What is COVID-19?
COVID-19 is a new strain of coronavirus, which is a type of virus, first identified in Wuhan City, China in January 2020.
What are the symptoms of COVID-19?
The main symptoms of COVID-19 are a high temperature, a new continuous cough and anosmia (loss of taste or smell). Infections can cause more severe symptoms in those with weakened immune systems, older people and those with long-term conditions such as diabetes, cancer and chronic lung disease.
Symptoms can start to appear up to 14 days after exposure to the virus.
How is COVID-19 spread?
COVID-19 is most likely spread from symptomatic people to others who are in close contact with them (less than 2 metres) through respiratory droplets when coughing or sneezing, or by contact with contaminated objects and surfaces.
Delilah High Aerial has put into place the following preventative measures to reduce the spread of COVID-19, however the studio cannot guarantee that you will not become infected with COVID-19. Furthermore, attending classes at Delilah High Aerial could increase your risk of contracting COVID-19.
Students should only come to class if they are not showing the symptoms of COVID-19 and no one in their household or social bubble are self-isolating.
Students should not arrive more than 5 minutes before the class is due to start.
On arrival and departure students must wash their hands for at least 20 seconds using soap and hot water.
Where possible students should arrive wearing their exercise/dance wear.
Students should avoid bringing extra items and belongings that are not needed for the class.
Students must adhere to social distancing guidelines at all times during the class and whilst at the venue.
Students must wear a mask where at all times.
Students must not share equipment; this includes grip aids.
Students must bring their own towel and bottle of water.
For stretch classes, students will be asked to bring their own mats and yoga blocks etc as these will not be provided.
Students will be asked to clean the equipment that they have used after class – products will be provided.
Students must not congregate after class and should exit the venue as soon as possible following the correct exit route.
There will be a 15-minute break between classes to allow for disinfecting of the studio. Poles will be cleaned using 70% Alcohol Surface Sanitizer.
The windows and doors of the studio will be left open to allow for extra ventilation.
Instruction and Spotting
At times maintaining social distancing may not be possible and so instructors and clients should work side by side or facing away from each other rather than face to face.
Instructors will plan classes so that spotting should not be required.
Students will be encouraged to work on regressions and strength training to reduce the need for physical spotting.
Students must alert the studio if they develop the symptoms of COVID-19 within one week of attending a class.
If a student is showing signs of COVID-19 they will be asked to leave.
Students must not return to class within 14 days of developing symptoms or being in close contact with anyone who is showing symptoms of COVID-19.
You will be contacted in the event that an outbreak of COVID-19 is detected at the studio.
Class sizes and prices
Class sizes are limited to 4 or 5 per class. This is to allow 1 person per pole/hoop.
